Jie Mao, M.D.
Dr. Jie Mao completed the Junior Honors Medical Program at the University of Florida, where she obtained her medical degree. She then matriculated to the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center where she served a year of internship in general surgery, four years of residency in radiology, and one year of fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology.
In 2003, Dr. Mao joined the medical staff at Boulder Community Hospital, where she practices both interventional and diagnostic radiology. She has special interest in noninvasive vascular imaging. Dr. Mao is also a regional expert in uterine fibroid embolization for the treatment of symptomatic fibroids and endovascular graft placement for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
In addition, she has in-depth experience in treating cancer in the liver with chemoembolization and performing minimally invasive breast biopsy.
Dr. Mao is always available to talk with patients about interventional radiology procedures that may serve as an alternative to more invasive treatments. She works at the Medical Imaging Center as well as at Boulder Community Hospital, Community Medical Center, and Foothills Hospital.
